Freedom Boat Club (FBC) is the world’s largest and oldest boat club, with over 400 locations worldwide: including Auckland, Queenstown, Christchurch, Sydney, and soon - Tasmania.
As their new Tasmania location prepares to open its doors, they’re receiving their first Rayglass vessel fresh from our factory floor. A brand new Rayglass Legend 2350.
FBC operate a unique business model, where a one-time fee, plus monthly membership buys you use of a vessel of your choosing. It’s a simple, affordable way to get out on the water with fuelling, cleaning, and maintenance all handled by the club.
On water training, insurance, walk-on walk-off boat use, and access to the Freedom network are included with every membership.
Their newest planned location is in beautiful Hobart, Tasmania, based out of the Derwent Sailing Squadron. It’s a great spot, on the river Derwent, just a few minutes from Hobart’s CBD - with great proximity to Storm Bay, Bruny Island and 40+ nautical miles of waterways.
What’s unique about this membership is that it’s the only FBC to operate out of a sailing squadron, rather than a commercial marina. Members get access to all the Squadron facilities (and visiting members from other countries will receive a 30-day visitor pass).
The Rayglass Legend 2350 is the ideal boat for FBC and its users. At 7.1 metres overall length, it’s easy to launch and tow, but it’s still plenty spacious for family boating.
An advanced Rayglass hull and wide turn down chines mean the vessel rides safely and smoothly in almost any conditions (as well as keeping passengers dry and comfortable). Because they’re so capable and easy to manage, they’re ideal for just about anything - serious fishing, family days, cruising, or water sports.
That explains why FBC have four Rayglass 2350s already (at their Sydney, Chch and Auckland locations) and have more units on order. David Kurczewski, General Manager Freedom Boat Club Asia-Pacific, says Rayglasses are always popular:
“The Rayglass boats on Sydney Harbour are by far our most popular boats right now. Likely a seasonal trend, but reflects our most committed members, and also current opportunities fishing, whale watching and cool weather cruising.”
“We expect this trend to continue in Tasmania where the Rayglass enclosed hardtop and dry, smooth ride will certainly be popular.”
Membership opportunities are available at New Zealand and Australian clubs - including the newly opened Tasmania FBC. Visit [email protected] to enquire - or find out more at freedomboatclub.com.au.
