The 3500 is the best of Rayglass’ boat building expertise and marine technology, distilled into a luxurious beach house on the sea. And because it’s the best of Rayglass, we like to keep an eye on boating innovations and include the latest and greatest in all our 3500s.

Mai Taime was no exception. This unique vessel was the first 3500 to be fitted with Rayglass’ refreshed electronics package - Seazone.

No buttons required

One of the most exciting things about the new Seazone technology is that it removes the need for buttons, leaving the helm clean and uncluttered. Instead, everything is controlled from the primary Simrad touch screen via a fully integrated electrical control system.

That includes the usuals such as navigation, GPS and autopilot features, engine on/off, control of onboard speakers and much more. This makes piloting and using the vessel easier and more intuitive and allows us to design a sleeker, more attractive helm - similar to the interior of a brand new luxury car.

This high-tech electrical system is now standard on all new Rayglass 3500 vessels.

Mai Taime’s first voyage

As soon as Mai Taime’s owner took delivery of her, they were extremely excited to get out on the water and put her through her paces. The vessel’s maiden voyage was to her owner’s home in the Bay of Islands from Auckland.

The upgraded V8 engines powered the boat beautifully and the owners enjoyed a relaxing cruise. They sat comfortably on 60% load and only used half a tank of fuel on a five hour trip at sea. The owners are at home now, looking forward to enjoying their second new Rayglass 3500 this summer.

A beach house on the sea

The Rayglass 3500 is designed to emulate a beach house on the sea. It was made by Kiwis for Kiwis, enabling intrepid boaties to go away for weeks at a time without leaving the comforts of home behind. It features a fridge, full galley, barbeque, open bar, wrap-around seating, full head height shower and enough room to comfortably sleep 4-6 people.

It’s got a huge range so it’s ideal for exploring far flung locations like Great Barrier, and it even features an optional diesel heater to enable year round boating comfort. All that luxury comes in a vessel with the classic Rayglass pedigree - a smooth ride, solid hull and unmatched performance.
