Rayglass Boats works with Ancasta, Europe’s largest yacht brokerage, to reach discerning buyers throughout the continent. We recently collaborated with them and Ancasta Yacht Services to create a truly unique Protector 380 Targa, for use as a superyacht tender in the Mediterranean.

This was a 14 month process, from concept to finished vessel, and we think you’ll agree - the results are incredible.
The build process started with a meeting between the owner’s representative, an experienced captain, and the Ancasta team in Port Hamble, England. During this in-depth, two-day consultation the owner’s representative examined the Protector range to find a vessel that suited the owner’s needs:
“The objective was to create a tender and chase boat that could be operated without a crew, allowing the owner to explore independently with his family while maintaining exceptional performance and seakeeping capabilities,” said Andy Andrews, Protector Boats Brand Manager at Ancasta.
Eventually the owner’s representative identified the Protector 380 Targa as a boat that met all the owner’s functional and aesthetic requirements - but that was just the beginning.
The Protector 380 Targa is the ideal canvas for customisation and can be enhanced to suit any owner’s needs. In this instance, Rayglass worked with Andrews and AYS Project Manager Chris Date, to specify and build a truly bespoke superyacht chase boat. Rayglass built the vessel and added certain customisations, then Ancasta added the final touches and delivered the vessel. These customisations and enhancements included:
We also included a number of aesthetic upgrades, such as custom engine wraps, upgraded lighter synthetic teak decking, and smoked perspex duckboards custom designed by AYS, enclosing the cabin and overnight accommodation.
Protector vessels may be luxurious and comfortable. But they’re not designed to sit idle - these vessels are built to enable adventure - and this 380 Targa is no different.
It’s been crafted so that the owner can enjoy a huge range of activities on the water, from scuba diving, to overnighting at anchor, and serious fishing:
“This project exemplifies the versatility of the Protector range, offering a high-performance, multipurpose vessel that seamlessly transitions between superyacht tender, chase boat, and standalone adventure craft,” said Andrews.
