Rayglass has recently been named as the official New Zealand dealer of one of the world’s most respected fibreglass boat brands - Boston Whaler. Our headquarters in Mt Wellington will be the new home of sales and servicing for the brand.

USA's leading manufacturer of fibreglass vessels

Boston Whaler has a story not unlike Rayglass’s. The company was founded in 1958 by marine innovator, Dick Fisher, who patented a foam injected hull process that would make Whalers the most durable, stable boats on the market. Boston Whaler found fame after Fisher proved his vessels were unsinkable by sawing them in half and driving on.

Since then, Boston Whaler has become one of the biggest names in boating in the US marine industry. They have supplied the US government and several demanding commercial users, as well as thousands of recreational boaters.

The company has won a Consumer Satisfaction Index Award every year since 2010 and continues to craft high quality fibreglass vessels that combine luxury and capability. They are owned by Rayglass’s parent company, Brunswick Marine.

Boston Whaler 240 Vantage

The 240 Vantage (image above) is the first Boston Whaler vessel available through Rayglass in New Zealand. This is a true ‘do-it-all’ boat, that can fit 11 passengers and is ideal for fishing and cruising.

In July 2022, Rayglass will expand the available Boston Whaler range and to include the larger 325 Conquest (with open cabin - image above) and 325 Conquest Pilothouse (with luxurious enclosed cabin).

A match made in boating heaven

Rayglass CEO Dave Larsen says the partnership between the two brands makes sense:

“Rayglass and Boston Whaler are both known for building vessels that offer the perfect combination of unsinkable capability and tough luxury. It’s very exciting to be working with a brand with a reputation like Boston Whaler.”

Dave adds that, despite its American origins, Boston Whaler’s vessels are perfect for New Zealand boaties:

“Kiwis are going to love them. It’s like Boston Whaler built them just for New Zealand. They're incredibly versatile, great for fishing, watersports and cruising.”
