Rayglass vessels are crafted using the highest quality materials and our boatbuilders are obsessed with all the small details. This means our boats can handle several generations of hard use, even in rough conditions.
Luckily for the owners of JJ, a Legend 2500 based out of Opotiki, after years of fishing their vessel was still in excellent working condition. It just needed a little TLC to bring it back to its former glory.
A decade of deep sea fishing
JJ’s owners are serious fisherpeople. They’d spent over a decade deep sea fishing off the coast of Opotiki in the Bay of Plenty catching everything from Marlin to Kingfish. The owner’s kids and their kids had enjoyed countless hours of fun onboard, but after all that activity the vessel needed a little love.
The family tasked our premium restoration team with restoring the vessel to its original condition and revamping years of accumulated wear and tear. Our talented team came up with a list of recommendations, got the owners onboard and then got to work.
Turning back time
Because of the build quality and materials we use, a Rayglass hull can last, and last, but inevitably the softer furnishings inside the vessels will wear down after hard use.
So to restore JJ to an as-new condition our premium restoration department:
Our team worked tirelessly on JJ for several days, and once we were done we could barely recognise her.
A brand new boat
JJ is a 10+ year old boat but after her restoration she looks, feels and functions like a brand new vessel. While it’s always nice to buy brand new, we reckon a quick, easy restoration is a great way to bring an old boat back to life and enjoy an ‘as-new’ experience.
And most importantly, we’re stoked to hear that JJ is back on the water in Opotiki and is good-to-go for another 10 years of family fun.
Have you got an older vessel that’s in need of a pick me up? Give our premium restoration team a bell and let’s talk about how we can make your older boat feel brand new.
